Untitled IV (Njósnavélin)

If, hypothetically, someone forced me to choose a favorite band and song, first I would be confused as to why, then I would promptly choose Sigur Rós and Njósnavélin, respectively. Words can’t describe what this band means to me, their music is absolutely other-worldly. I’m hesitant to even put a genre label on it, so I won’t. Getting into Sigur Rós was one of the best things to ever happen to me. Their music has made me think differently about music, has made me appreciate the aesthetic value of minimalism and simplicity, has helped me introspectively and meditatively. This song is so perfect to me. I feel everything and nothing all at once every time I listen to it. It’s so versatile, and I feel like its meaning is totally dependent on the listener. My play count for this track exceeds 500 and it still gives me shivers regularly. Pure magic. Needless to say, favorite. Guitar riff. Ever. Just listen, ‘kay?
I’m done, promise. Seacrest, out. (Does he still say that? He definitely said that like 7 years ago when I was a fourth grader and Idol was still relevant to my life.)
P.S. Sigur Rós will likely make many future appearances on EE, so if you’re not a fan… go home.
